May 5th - Day 5

Day 5 was a really long day. Nothing seemed to be going right. We had planned to sketch our painting in the coffee house but the ceiling was just under 8 feet so the wood planks couldn't fit. We started brainstorming on other places with high ceilings we could use and finally decided to work in the old dining hall. Simon and I headed to maintenance to ask if they could open the doors for us. Nobody was there so we called and they said they would meet us by the old dhall. We now had to move our 4 4' by 4' wood planks from to the coffee house to the dining hall. When I carried the planks I couldn't see anything in front of me and nearly hit a lot of people walking by. We finally set up the wood planks and started sketching. The wood boards, all put together, are enormous. We didn't realize how big of a painting it will actually be and we are so excited. The sketch came out pretty well, we struggled with the left boot but it will look good with paint. Sketching was super fun and I can't wait to paint.
